KK's Priest & Accept - Full Metal Assault Tour 2024

By: Jay Broderick - With promises of being "the most electrifying heavy metal tour of the year", former Judas Priest guitarist K.K. Downing and his new band KK's Priest embark on a 28 date rampage of North America, with long time heavy metal lords Accept.

In 2011, Judas Priest founding member K.K. Downing left the band. As I type this (and as per usual), the time amazes me. It is simply mind boggling to me that it has been that long. While there is plenty of scuttlebutt as to the reasons he left, Downing maintains the number of reasons were plentiful. We won't go into it all here, but you can readily find a lot of the chatter online. So it was in 2020, after a lengthy hiatus from playing live music, that Downing joined forces with a couple other ex-Judas Priest members and created KK's Priest. The band released their first album Sermons of the Sinner is 2021, and followed it up with the band's most recent release, 2023's The Sinner Rides Again.

On August 31st, KK's Priest and German legends Accept kicked off the co-headlining tour in Los Angeles, California, and subsequently, will also end in California, but this time San Francisco on October 7. With dates in between at major US cities like Detroit, New York, Nashville and Dallas, the tour rolls north of the border into Canada for 2 dates only. On September 10, the bands will play Toronto's Queen Elizabeth Theatre and then onto Montreal the following night. NEWSFLASH! THAT'S NEXT WEEK KIDS!!!!

Each band promises to give every ounce of themselves each night of this tour. With the tour having already gotten underway, you're going to want to do yourselves a favour and snag a ticket to one of these Canadian dates. And if for some reason you can't, LoudTO will be on hand in Toronto, where we'll deliver the goods with photos and a show review.

Stay close, and bang that head!!!
