August Burns Red Re-Record Debut "Thrill Seeker" - Jake Luhrs Behind the Mic

By: Jay Broderick - 2025 marks the 20th Anniversary for Lancaster, Pennsylvania's August Burns Red's debut album Thrill Seeker. To celebrate the album's 20th Anniversary, ABR has opted to re-record the album with the current lineup that has been in place since 2006.

Released in November 2005, the lineup on Thrill Seeker included guitarists "JB" Brubaker and Brent Rambler, drummer Matt Greiner, bassist Jordan Tuscan and vocalist Josh McManness. Tuscan and McManness ultimately left the band in 2006, and were replaced with Dustin Davidson and Jake Luhrs respectively. With the band's members firmly in place over the past 19 years, the fans wondered what the album would sound like with the "real" lineup... and so the band has obliged!

With producers Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland on board, the album was re-recorded from scratch. The re-recording with the band's current lineup is not the only surprise in store for this one. The album's original producer, and Killswitch Engage guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz appears on "Speech Impediment", and original vocalist Josh McManness appears on "Barbarian".

The new recording is due for a January 24, 2025 release date. Preorder your copy HERE. And today, the band has released a brand new lyric video for the album's track "Your Little Suburbia Is In Ruins". Check it out below!!
